Cocktail History
The Jingle Juice Punch is a Christmas cocktail that was created by Lena Abraham of Delish, an online food and beverage blog. This vibrant, large-format holiday drink combines two varieties of wine—a red and a sparkling—to create depth and effervescence. Tart cranberry juice and sweet apple cider are then added to balance the flavors while giving the punch some festive flair, complemented by the botanical complexity of gin. Fresh mint leaves and lime slices also enhance both the drink’s refreshing flavor and its decorative presentation, making it as delightful to look at as it is to sip. Perfect for entertaining, this crowd-pleasing punch captures the festive spirit of the season effortlessly.
Cocktail Ingredients
To make this cocktail, you’ll need the following ingredients:
Red Wine: This is a type of wine made by fermenting dark-skinned grapes while the skins remain in contact with the juice. I used River Bend Winery & Distillery Sweet Red Blend.
Sparkling Wine: This is a type of wine made with white or red grapes and infused with carbon dioxide. I used La Marca Prosecco.
Cranberry Juice: This is a tart, bright red juice made with cranberries. I used Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice.
Apple Cider: This is a beverage made with freshly pressed apple juice and baking spices. I used The Glass Orchard Apple Cider.
Gin: This is a spirit made with juniper berries, botanicals, alcohol, and water. I used Broker’s Premium London Dry Gin.
Simple Syrup: This is a sweetener made with white sugar and water. I used this stovetop recipe.
Cranberries: This is a small red berry native to North America that’s known for its vibrant color and slightly bitter flavor.
Sugar: This is white sugar that has been processed, crystallized, and dried so the crystals don’t clump together. I used C&H Pure Cane Granulated Sugar.
Mint Leaves: These are the fresh, aromatic leaves of the mint plant.
Lime Wheel: This is a slice of lime that has been cut into a wheel shape.
Bartending Tools
To make this cocktail, you’ll need the following bar tools:
Bar Mat: This is a rubber or silicone mat that’s placed on the bar surface to catch spills, provide grip for glasses and tools, and keep the workspace clean and organized. I used the Highball & Chaser 18×12 Bar Mat.
Paring Knife: This is a small, sharp kitchen knife with a narrow blade that’s used for peeling, trimming, and garnishing. I used the OXO Good Grips 3.5 Inch Paring Knife.
Jigger: This is a small, double-sided measuring tool that’s used to accurately portion spirits and mixers, typically with one side measuring 1 oz and the other 1.5 or 2 oz. I used the Japanese jigger from the A Bar Above 14-Piece Silver Bar Set.
Spoon: This is a kitchen tool with a heat-resistant head and a comfortable ergonomic handle that’s used for stirring, mixing, and serving. I used the OXO Good Grips Silicone Spoon.
Pitcher: This is a container with a handle and spout that’s used for holding and pouring cocktails in large quantities. I used the Libbey 60 oz Glass Pitcher.

Tasting Notes
This cocktail has the following flavor profile:
• Appearance: Deep pink-ish red hue
• Aroma: Sweet wine and citrus
• Taste: An initial sugary flavor that’s accented with fruity sweetness from the red wine
• Finish: Notes of gin’s herbs, tart fruit, spices, and effervescent cranberry-tartness
Kendall’s Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
Kendall’s Take: “You really can’t go wrong with a cranberry apple-y sangria this time of year, and that’s exactly what this is. It tastes just like a souped-up grape juice, which is what your Christmas party guests probably want. Me, on the other hand… I think I’m just not a huge fan of sangria anymore. I want more complexity than I’m supposed to get in punch-style drinks and found myself preferring the Fall Sangria over the Jingle Juice Punch if I’m using apple cider. This is still delicious and sure to please a crowd though, so please don’t let me stop you from making it!”
