The Boozy Screamsicle is a Halloween cocktail that was first published on Delish, an online food and beverage blog. Inspired by the creamsicle ice cream pop, the original recipe was meant to be an extremely sweet and palatable dessert drink, but this version takes the seriousness and booziness to the next level. It calls for a split base of vanilla vodka and blood orange gin and added an amaro that would pair well with the orange sherbet ice cream, chocolate, and whipped cream, and it also omits the crushed Oreo cookie rim so it’s easier to make.

Cocktail Ingredients

To make this cocktail, you’ll need the following ingredients:

Orange Sherbet Ice Cream: This is a frozen dessert made with citrus, sugar, and cream or milk. I used Kemp’s Fat-Free Orange Sherbet.

Milk: This is a liquid rich in calcium and protein that is produced by mammals. I used Prairie Farm Vitamin D Whole Milk.

Vanilla Vodka: This is a type of vodka made with vanilla pods, grains, vegetables or fruits, and alcohol. I used Smirnoff Vanilla Vodka.

Blood Orange Gin: This is a spirit made with blood oranges, juniper berries, botanicals, and alcohol. I used Whitley Neill Blood Orange Gin.

Meletti Amaro: This is a liqueur made in Italy with gentian root, orange peels, spices, violets, and alcohol.

Chocolate Syrup: This is a sweetener made with cocoa, corn syrup, sugar, water, and other ingredients. I used Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Syrup.

Whipped Cream: This is heavy cream that has been whipped and beaten until it is light and fluffy. I used Reddi-Wip Original Dairy Whipped Topping.

Orange & Black Sprinkles: These are small pieces of confectionary that are used as decoration. I used Wilton Halloween Nonpareils Sprinkles.

Even if you don’t usually go for dessert cocktails, the Boozy Screamsicle is a worth a try during spooky season. It’s sweet with a unique herbal flavor; I really liked it and would definitely make it again.”
