Cocktail History
The Candy Corn Martini is a popular Halloween cocktail of unknown origin. On other websites, similar drinks are often made with a neutral grain spirit, candy-flavored liqueurs, and other sweet ingredients.
This version created by Alex Sukopp, former bartender of the retired Instagram account Sips From Scripts, also starts with vanilla vodka as the base spirit, but it adds a little sophistication with honey and herbal liqueurs that are layered along with pomegranate and cranberry to look like the candy.
Cocktail Ingredients
To make this cocktail, you’ll need the following ingredients:
Vanilla Vodka: This is a type of vodka made with fermented grains or potatoes and water, which are distilled and then infused with vanilla to develop a sweet, spiced flavor.
Honey Liqueur: This is a liqueur made with honey, spices, distilled alcohol, water, and sugar, which are blended and infused to develop a rich, sweet flavor.
Grenadine: This is a sweetener made with pomegranate juice and white sugar, which are heated and infused into a syrup with a deep, sweet-tart flavor.
Galliano L’Autentico Liqueur: This is a liqueur made in Italy with a blend of herbs, spices, and vanilla, distilled alcohol, water, and sugar, which are blended and infused to develop a sweet, herbal flavor.
Cranberry Juice: This is the liquid extracted from ripe cranberries that’s blended with water to develop a dark, tart flavor.
Whipped Cream: This is a dairy topping made with cream and sugar, which are whipped into a light, airy texture.
Candy Corn: This is a type of confection made with sugar, corn syrup, and sweet flavoring that has a soft texture and sugary, vanilla flavor.

Kendall’s Take
“For a drink with a kitschy name, this cocktail packs a surprising amount of flavor into a Halloween sip. Honey, pomegranate, and cranberry mingle beautifully, creating a layered, festive recipe that still feels approachable. The whipped cream layer then adds the visual nod to candy corn, making it playful without overshadowing the drink’s surprisingly balanced taste. In my opinion, the Candy Corn Martini is a unique mix of fun and thoughtful flavor for the Halloween season.”
