Cocktail History
The Coruscant Cooler is a Star Wars cocktail that was created at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, an attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida and Anaheim, California. Served at Ronto Roasters at Black Spire Outpost inside the park, the recipe, which is inspired by Coruscant, the bustling capital planet of the Star Wars universe, features a base of spiced whiskey that provides warmth and complexity and is balanced by tart cranberry juice and fresh lime for brightness. Sweet vermouth and cherry flavors then round out the profile to add more depth and sweetness, resulting in a refreshing and approachable beverage that’s ideal while immersed in the galaxy far, far away.
Cocktail Ingredients
To make this cocktail, you’ll need the following ingredients:
Bourbon: This is a type of whiskey made in the United States with at least 51% corn, grains, malted barley, and water. This recipe specifically calls for Maker’s Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky.
Cranberry Juice: This is a tart, bright red juice made with cranberries. I used Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice.
Lime Juice: This is the tangy liquid extracted from the flesh of limes. I used fresh lime juice.
Sweet Vermouth: This is a fortified wine made with grapes, sugar, botanicals, herbs, sugar, alcohol, and water. I used Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth.
Maraschino Liqueur: This is a liqueur made with Maraschino cherries, honey, herbs, spices, sugar, alcohol, and water. I used Luxardo Maraschino Orginale Liqueur.
Lime Slice: This is a slice of lime that has been cut into a half wheel shape.
Cherry: This is a fruit that has been soaked in brandy and rich syrup. I used Luxardo Maraschino Cherries.
Bartending Tools
To make this cocktail, you’ll need the following bar tools:
Bar Mat: This is a rubber or silicone mat that’s placed on the bar surface to catch spills, provide grip for glasses and tools, and keep the workspace clean and organized. I used the Highball & Chaser 18×12 Bar Mat.
Jigger: This is a small, double-sided measuring tool that’s used to accurately portion spirits and mixers, typically with one side measuring 1 oz and the other 1.5 or 2 oz. I used the Japanese jigger from the A Bar Above 14-Piece Silver Bar Set.
Boston Shaker: This is a two-piece cocktail shaker consisting of a metal tin and a glass or metal mixing glass that’s used for shaking and blending ingredients. I used the Boston shaker from the A Bar Above 14-Piece Silver Bar Set.
Hawthorne Strainer: This is a metal strainer with a spring around its edge that’s used to filter out ice and solids when pouring the cocktail into a glass. I used the A Bar Above Hawthorne Strainer.
Paring Knife: This is a small, sharp kitchen knife with a narrow blade that’s used for peeling, trimming, and garnishing. I used the OXO Good Grips 3.5 Inch Paring Knife.
Juicer: This is a handheld tool that’s used to extract juice from fruits by pressing or twisting it against a reamer or cone. I used the Black+Decker 32 oz Electric Citrus Juicer.
Cocktail Pick: This is a small, slender tool that’s used to skewer cocktail garnishes. I used one from the I-MART Stainless Steel Cocktail Pick Set.
Lowball Glass: This is a short, wide glass with a thick base that’s used for serving spirits neat or on the rocks. I used the EPURE Boston Rocks Glass.

Kendall’s Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
Kendall’s Take: “I found this Star Wars cocktail to be good but not anything too memorable. Bourbon and cranberry are a tasty combination, but there was a lot of cranberry compared to the other ingredients. I’d prefer to dial that back a bit. I also think I would love the Coruscant Cooler more if it wasn’t such a large drink and was maybe served up instead of on the rocks. Then again, this is clearly meant to be a drink you order inside a theme park, and it gets the job done in that regard.”
