Cocktail History

The Spring Gin Mule is a Novel Nightcaps original cocktail that was created as a springtime variation of our Holiday Gin Mule and Winter Gin Mule. The recipe was made for Victoria Distillers Empress 1908 gin, a popular spirit flavored and colored bright purple with butterfly pea blossom. The botanical flavor of the spirit is then complemented with a flowery lavender syrup, lime juice, and ginger beer.

Kendall’s Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Kendall’s Take: "I was going to make this spring-inspired variation last year after creating both a Christmas and winter version too, but I forgot to stick it on my calendar before the summer. It's been in the back of my mind since then, and I'm glad I finally got to find out if it's just as good with floral notes instead of fruit and herbs. Although a bit drier and not quite as complex as the others since they used compound syrups, I still really loved the Spring Gin Mule. It's sweet and floral and has a delicious ginger bite. Plus, its lovely purple hue is sure to wow your friends!"
