Cocktail History

The White Bat is a modern cocktail that was created by Simon Ford, a bartender and the co-founder of Fords Gin. Originally made for a Pernod Ricard event, the recipe calls for an intriguing mixture of rum, coffee liqueur, and milk, and it tops them with fizzy soda, which gives the drink its notorious frothy texture.

Coca-Cola: This is a carbonated soft drink made with coca leaf extract, caffeine, sugar, and carbonated water.

Tasting Notes

This cocktail has the following flavor profile:

Appearance: Light brown ombré color with foamy texture

• Aroma: Mint, coffee, and cola

• Taste: Creamy milk heightened by Coke's sweetness and accented with coffee

• Finish: More coffee and soda with notes of rum

Kendall’s Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Kendall’s Take: "This was one of those drinks that knocked my socks off because it was so much tastier than I expected. I typically steer clear of soda, even in cocktails, and I was skeptical that soda and milk of all things would work together. To my surprise, they do, and the taste combination was actually quite good. The frothy texture of the carbonated milk freaked me out a little, so that's why I'm giving the White Bat three stars. Take my aversion to that with a grain of salt though and try this one anyway if you're feeling a little wild."
