Cocktail History

This Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini is an autumn cocktail that was created by Jassy Davis and was first published in her book Winter Warmers: 60 Cosy Cocktails for Autumn & Winter. It was created as an seasonal variation of the original Espresso Martini that uses coffee as a base but calls for vanilla-flavored vodka instead of classic vodka and adds pumpkin and baking spices, the quintessential flavors of fall, in a homemade syrup.

Appearance: Dark brown color

• Aroma: Fresh nutmeg and coffee

• Taste: Prominent espresso flavor accented with pumpkin, vanilla, and baking spices

• Finish: Bold and slightly bitter coffee

Kendall’s Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Kendall’s Take: "Like most folks these days, I love a good Espresso Martini, and I knew adding in pumpkin and baking spices would make it an even more dangerously easy sip. Even if you're not a coffee drinker, it's worth giving the Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini a try just so you can make a batch of the divine pumpkin spice syrup. Thanks to this ingredient, the classic gets a welcome infusion of fall-inspired complexity."
