The Humble Pie is an autumn cocktail that's meant to be an interpretation of the holiday staple—classic apple pie. The recipe mixes equal-parts apple brandy and Scotch whisky and layers in ginger and brown sugar syrups, allspice liqueur, aromatic bitters, and a hint of pepper for spice and complexity.
Base Spirit: Brandy, Whisky

Serving Size: 1
Add apple brandy, whisky, ginger syrup, demerara syrup, allspice liqueur, bitters, and black pepper to a mixing glass.
Fill mixing glass with cubed ice.
Using a bar spoon, stir for 30-45 seconds until well-chilled and slightly diluted.
Add fresh cubed ice to a lowball glass.
Using a julep strainer, strain into lowball glass.
Garnish with candied ginger.
