The Hugo Mojito is a modern cocktail created in 2023 by John Langner at Helix Wine, Craft Bar, & Café in Altoona, Wisconsin. Building on the bright, floral notes of a Hugo Spritz, the recipe fuses elderflower and Prosecco with the classic Mojito’s mint and lime, then elevates it further with house-made cucumber syrup for a crisp, refreshing twist that feels like a sparkling garden in a glass.
Add mint leaves and cucumber syrup to a shaker.
Using a muddler, gently muddle mint leaves in cucumber syrup for 5-7 seconds, then let sit for 2-3 minutes.
Add rum, elderflower liqueur, and lime juice to shaker.
Fill shaker with cubed ice.
Shake for 10-20 seconds.
Add fresh cracked ice to a highball glass.
Using a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer, strain into highball glass.
Top with Prosecco and soda water.
Garnish with mint sprig.
