Cocktail History
The Jingle Juice Punch is a Christmas cocktail that was created by Lena Abraham of Delish, an online food and beverage blog. The recipe, which is made by mixing two types of wine, cranberry, apple cider, gin, mint leaves, and limes, is meant to be a large format drink that can be served to guests at holiday parties.
Cocktail Ingredients
To make this cocktail, you’ll need the following ingredients:
Red Wine: This is a type of wine made with red grapes. I used River Bend Winery & Distillery Sweet Red Blend.
Sparkling Wine: This is a carbonated wine made with white or red grapes. I used La Marca Prosecco.
Cranberry Juice: This is the liquid juice of cranberries. I used Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice.
Apple Cider: This is a beverage made with freshly pressed apple juice and baking spices. I used The Glass Orchard Apple Cider.
Gin: This is a type of gin made with juniper berries, botanicals, and alcohol that has been infused with flavor through redistillation without artificial ingredients or colors. I used Broker’s Premium London Dry Gin.
Simple Syrup: This is a sweetener made with white sugar and water. I made ours at home using my stovetop recipe.
Cranberries: This is a small red fruit. I used fresh cranberries.
Sugar: This is white sugar that has been processed, crystallized, and dried so the crystals don’t clump together. I used C&H Pure Cane Granulated Sugar.
Mint Leaves: This is an herb. I used fresh Mojito mint.
Lime Wheel: This is a slice of lime that has been cut into a wheel shape.
Bartending Tools
To make this cocktail, you’ll need the following bar tools:
Pitcher: This is used to hold ingredients. I used the Libbey 60 oz Glass Pitcher.
Spoon: This is used to stir the ingredients. I used the OXO Good Grips Silicone Spoon.
Jigger: This is used to measure and pour ingredients. I used the Japanese jigger from the A Bar Above 14-Piece Silver Bar Set.
Bar Spoon: This is used to stir ingredients. I used the Barfly Stainless Steel Teardrop Bar Spoon.
Paring Knife: This is used to cut ingredients. I used the OXO Good Grips 3.5 Inch Paring Knife.
Tasting Notes
This cocktail has the following flavor profile:
• Appearance: Deep pink-ish red hue
• Aroma: Sweet wine and citrus
• Taste: An initial sugary flavor that’s accented with fruity sweetness from the red wine
• Finish: Notes of gin’s herbs, tart fruit, spices, and effervescent cranberry-tartness
Kendall’s Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
Kendall’s Take: “You really can’t go wrong with a cranberry apple-y sangria this time of year, and that’s exactly what this is. It tastes just like a souped-up grape juice, which is what your Christmas party guests probably want. Me, on the other hand… I think I’m just not a huge fan of sangria anymore. I want more complexity than I’m supposed to get in punch-style drinks and found myself preferring the Fall Sangria over the Jingle Juice Punch if I’m using apple cider. This is still delicious and sure to please a crowd though, so please don’t let me stop you from making it!”
